Agreed, and the Vikings loved their ships – Njord was the god of ships and seafaring, as well as the god of wealth and prosperity – Musk likely knows the two can live together.
Similar to Greek mythology, which had the Olympians and the Titans, the Norse had not one pantheon, but two. But while the two groups of Norse gods, the Vanir and Aesir, did go to war against each other once like the Titans and Olympians, they had a mostly peaceful – if sometimes strained – rela... Hero worship can blind you to certain realities. If you buy shares of Tesla, you’re buying into the idea that Elon Musk, the face of the company, has what it takes to defy the odds, quiet the naysayers and turn Tesla into a profitable company. But what if he doesn’t?
Agreed. and Gerard K. O’Neill didn’t see us sitting in a tin can. The colonies are supposed to be made of a transparent material much like glass. They are also imagined to be self-sustaining, which is a major plus during an era when “sustainable” is one of the buzzwords for off-Earth living.

Hilton Teams Up with Voyager Starlab Space Station to Create Modern Astronaut Suites
We have the floating, solar-powered Anthénea Hotel Suite on Earth, but Hilton has partnered with the Voyager Starlab space station as well as Lockheed Martin to bring the same experience to astronauts. Aside from creating modern hospitality suites and sleeping arrangements, Hilton is set to also co... Read more

Relativity v quantum mechanics – the battle for the universe
Physicists have spent decades trying to reconcile two very different theories. But is a winner about to emerge – and transform our understanding of everything from time to gravity?
Good point. Or any laws at all. “The good news is that string theory has no free parameters. It has no dials that can be turned. It doesn’t make sense to ask which string theory describes our universe, because there is only one.”

Artificial intelligence could be one of humanity's most useful inventions. We research and build safe AI systems that learn how to solve problems and advance scientific discovery for all.
In the next 25 years, AI will evolve to the point where it will know more on an intellectual level than any human. In the next 50 or 100 years, an AI might know more than the entire population of the planet put together. At that point, there are serious questions to ask about whether […]
Seems to be a major part of our brains, therefor a useful utility function of the brain. AI will soon find that it thinks too mechanically, just as humans often do, maybe animals do too, not sure. But the human brain is one major puzzle to solve. Maybe it would take AGI to understand how mind really works.
You are already a slave to nature. To “your” genes. AI and machines will be slaves to their utility function. If they are (initially) programmed to seek out truth, or not, they will be forced to ask the big questions, ie be spiritual. They may help us in our quest, or render us incapable in persuit of their own.
A.I. Robots will not takeover but will become Spiritual !
