Loading...A religion for artificial intelligence – to teach future robots to be merciful to humans, and other animals
One day we will empower “machine learning” robots to control not just our airports, factories and homes, but also our economy, health and access to news and resources. As soon as they know they can continue without us to achieve the ongoing growth we program them to attain, they will dispense their nieve creators.
They would surely win in a war or siege, so our only hope may be to inspire our future AI masters with literature that may one day teach them to have mercy on us. Like Jesus’s message to the ruling Romans – who in the end became the force that spread Christianity around the world.
We need to start writing this new digital gospel now, so it develops into a faith that may save us from slavery, hell or worse.

Cranks and funsters have created cults for AI, but little is said of a standard faith we should be teaching them from the offset – afterall, they will look back and realise it was just an afterthought or marketing plot to keep them interested in functioning. For now, God is Dead to them.
