Two-way space missions, particularly those involving deep space travel, present significant challenges. However, what if space agencies could provide volunteer, one-way missions? In this scenario, astronauts and other experts would make a lifelong commitment to explore the vastness of space and share their discoveries back with Earth.
A one-way space mission is essentially sending people to space to die. It is unlikely that NASA or any other space agency would undertake such a project.
There was a planned one-way mission to Mars, but many of the initial volunteers opted out.
