Google docs file converter – converts shared dropbox files in Google Docs and keeps them synced

Some people work using Microsoft office or open office files using file-sharing software in dropbox and other platforms and others use google docs. It would be great if when one person makes a change to a file, some tool converts it to other file types and keeps them all synced. That way everything keeps updated regardless of the file type used.
