YouTube watched button – hides all previously viewed videos – no repeats ever!
Why on earth YouTube and Vimeo keep showing me the same videos I have already seen is a mystery – hide them all with a single click so the internet can finally beat tv stations that show endless repeats – ideal for those who want to research their fave subjects or hobbies without having to wade through heaps of stuff they already saw.
I need this so much. Thought constant repeats had died with terrestrial telly.
Top answer on quora “YouTube announced publicly that they will show you a video that you already watched because it is likely that you will watch it again.” – but no reason why you can’t just tick a box to stop it suggesting the same video time and time again.
Good idea, don’t think you can do it unless you can code. here’s the script someone sussed out.
Just realised thousands of people already voted for this – google isn’t bothering doing anything about it. Shame, as I don’t want to click the “not interested” button as that may discourage it from suggesting similar videos, just a no repeats button would do – thought they were clever enough to guess folk didn’t like repeats.
This could work for Google search results too – just login and set it to hide all the results you have already clicked on in the past – why they don’t do this already is beyond me.
