  2. Nice idea but you won’t have heard of any of these data brokers anyways – same as the parent companies that own “bad karma” brands. Its a buffer zone thing, corporations learned to do long ago to protect the public facing brand that represents the real players beneath. So yeah have a list, and you will be none the wiser on which shareholders and individuals are spying on you.

  5. You can do it in Google accounts but its such a faff. Agreed, a simple popup where you list your interests or tick those it guesses would make ads a joy rather than a hinderance. Surprised their super clever and now very RICH ai doesn’t realise this. Come on Sergey, its been 20 years now….

  7. There are some apps, but they are very limited – fact is, Facebook doesn’t let them know ALL the stuff it gathers about your browsing habits, so no app or plugin could really do it.

  10. Facial recognition isn’t quite there yet. I really hope no crime evidence is based on it. And it could be a real problem when rouge states, or even hacky AI bots grab information from security cameras to facial fingerprint every one of the world’s citizens. Hmm, 1984 would be easy then.

  21. Google’s DeepMind is better than humans at lip reading, this is amazing, soon any video could be transcribed in any language on youtube – better, using an app personally whilst on holdiay would make life so much easier.
