More and more cyclists are reaching for their cell phones while in the saddle – for making calls, listening to music, texting, or navigating, which increases crash risk.
Your car has all its displays and controls built into its dashboard, so why doesn't your bike have all its gadgets integrated into its handlebar? Well, that's exactly the approach taken by the sleek Flitedeck bar, which features a touchscreen, headlight, wireless connectivity and more.

Yeah, like this review says, its almost impossible to place the mirrors on the lense in order for it to see past your head. So depends on which type of shades you have.
CycleAware ViewPoint Super Tiny Sunglasses Bike Mirror
These spy glasses are like having eyes in the back of your head. With mirrors on the side of the inside lens you can discreetly see if anyone is tailing you.
Mammut is a Swiss premium outdoor company founded in 1862 providing high quality products and unique brand experiences to mountain sport enthusiasts around the globe.
“GET OUT OF THE WAY!” A woman yelled at a cyclist while both were going up the escalator. The impatient woman was enforcing the unwritten rule that one side of an escalator should be cleared for th…
It works a bit like one of those ski lifts that pushes you up the slope while you’re standing. Norway has one. San Francisco and Pittsburgh are looking into it.
“Justice Lang ruled that Streetspace (cycle lane scheme in London) “took advantage of the pandemic” to push through “radical” and permanent changes to London’s roads. And a lawyer in the case said the scheme – and others like it – could now be scrapped across the UK.”
Capital’s Covid cycle lanes ‘unlawful’ (what does this mean for Brighton and Hove?)
I thought this after visiting the High Line in NYC. Cyclists, scooterers and skaters should be welcomed. It would reduce the number of crossings needed in busy inner-city areas and also provide each street with 2 levels of shopfront.

The streets of NYC, at a glance, seem to provide a ubiquitous bike rack model, well, besides trees and poles. You know the one. It resembles a wet noodle with alternating U-turns. We can't help but think that Roel Vanderbeek's attractive and space-saving design would make a dandy trade-out for...
It is a nice idea, but how safe is it to have a display screen on your bicycle handlebars when riding?
This looks so cool!
These guys are crowdfunding one on Kickstarter.

Already done!
Check out how seamlessly this auto-shifting e-bike handles rough terrain.
Electric bike technology keeps on getting better and better!
This is amazing! You can simply sit on your bike, enjoy the ride, and not worry about shifting.
It’s already been done! Several manufacturers are now producing auto-shifting #ebikes.
These homemade airless bike tires are so cool!
These have been around for a while, and you can get some on Amazon.
With #airless tires technology, you never have to worry about your bike tires going flat again.

Could also be cool spying glasses to discreetly detect anyone who is following you.
These are cool. Just like having a rearview mirror on your bicycle!
This foldable bike helmet easily fits into a bag, making it easy to carry.
Check out these helmets being developed. They are pretty cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8tsSgyu0s0
Not entirely plastic bicycles, but you can buy replacement wheels made of plastic materials.
Awesome concept! Check out this company that makes bicycles using plastic bottle caps. And the best part, you can return them to the factory to be recycled when they are too worn out. https://innovationorigins.com/en/startup-of-the-day-cycling-on-a-bicycle-made-of-used-plastic-bottle-caps/
They have been around for some time, though the technology is yet to gain traction. A great way to save the environment by reducing plastic waste.
Found one that doesn’t look like bamboo
….made by people who smile whilst sitting on the floor! Ahem.
Here you go, this is where you can read more about the one in your image.
Yeah, like this review says, its almost impossible to place the mirrors on the lense in order for it to see past your head. So depends on which type of shades you have.
You can get these view point mirrors that you can stick in any set of shades. not sure if they are any good though, nice idea if they work.
These already exist. Though they should be split-screen so you can still see in front too. No?
You can get them but unfortunately they are just gimmicky things to spy on your kids. Surprised this doesn’t exist for cyclists etc
How about the Mammut trauma pack? https://www.mammut.com/uk/en/products/2610-01330-0001/pro-protection-airbag-30
Not sure how effective they are, but they seem like a good idea. Read more here but more research is needed at this stage I guess.
This?
Been wanting these in LA for nearly a decade now. Not going to happen. Cyclists don’t pay road tax. so don’t hold your breath.
Hello America?
And out on the street – San Fransico needs these!
….or this – the other way round.
brilliant! googled it and its called bicycle taxidermy. Going to make one next time a bike dies on me.
Looks like a good idea. Would be great in many cities for sure.
China beat us to it, again.
Councils would use it to spend our money to stop us travelling on roads we have already paid for. Read the article here https://www.theargus.co.uk/news/19030419.londons-cycle-lanes-unlawful—mean-brighton/

read about this SKYLINE idea a while back, could work in some places. I would use them rather than be stuck amongst all those cars.
This is a good idea and is already a thing in the rural north of England
Didn’t realise they were having to hang bikes on the bus in NY,
I meant one that folded from the sides inwards, so its just banana shaped when folder up, something that looks like this one on amazon.
Would buy this one if I knew there was a safe place I could hook my bike lock to, so nobody nicked it.
I have the Plixi, they are a great idea, but expensive to be fair.
The environmental activists said the new lanes were made “to help accommodate the boom in cycling as a result of the coronavirus pandemic”…
Heh – Brighton! Bet Caroline paid for the paint.
Better idea may be to incorporate it with the vest – hit something on the glove and both indicate which way you intend to turn.
Why not make the entire glove light up? Motorists behind don’t care if it shows an arrow. just give them enough light that flashes.
These are a great idea, I saw a cyclist I may not have seen – so am adding a link to Zakees who do them https://zackees.com/
Looking at one on Amazon – but why don’t they use the entire back wheel as a battery – such a wasted opportunity to give them longer lasting power.
Powered ebike wheels are what you need. Not sure why they are “e” bikes, surprised some doofus didn’t name them “smart” bikes.
They are the main part of a conversion kit – so already done. Nice idea though.
THIS…
More info on Roel’s stand here.
Tried and tested in NY – Should be everywhere, they take less material to make and the existing ones are rubbish at holding a bike up.
