Metal detectors in surgery doors
A family member of mine died after surgeons left forceps in their body after an operation – surely this would alarm them to the mistake if it had x-ray pics to review before releasing a patient.

Heard a few nightmare stories about this – would save lives no doubt if they made them mandatory.
