Universal shopping receipts with QR codes

Every receipt you get from the shops should have a unique QR code that sends info about your purchases to an app. The app would not only give you information about the place and time of purchase, and how much you tend to spend, but could also work with other apps to monitor your food/drink/alcohol intake and perhaps provide bad diet warnings or suggest alternatives.
