Loading...Turn smart motorway inside lanes back into hard shoulders
Smart motorways have failed as an experiment and are causing the deaths of many motorists. The idea of closing a lane as soon as a breakdown has happened in untenable and the highway agencies do not have the technology to keep up with their promises.
Already facing prosecution for manslaughter Highways England need to action this as soon as possible to make our motorways safe again.
The first step should be to close the inside lane (red X) on all smart motorways
Not sure how many deaths Boris will accept till they decide to review the situation. But these are avoidable deaths.
