Why doesn’t someone make something similar to a doughnut-shaped space station (like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanford_torus) which would produce gravity for its inhabitants – but weight it using orbiting asteroids on tethers? And mine the asteroids for raw building materials.
Ass steroids will save us one day.

Some great images of possible habitable space stations from the 70s. Like the idea of using asteroids you can mine, but not sure how practical this would be, even in the far future.
