Space burial with re-entry cremation
I watched this Sci-Fi TV show of people living in space, where they bury their loved ones by releasing their bodies into the expanse, with the remains burning on re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere. Can we try something similar where dead bodies are first launched into space and then released so that they are naturally cremated on re-entry?
While a novel idea, the cost of launching a dead body into space and then launching it towards Earth would be exorbitant, so this option wouldn’t be available to ordinary individuals.
Someone already has a patent for space burials with cremation on reentry!
Space burials, where people send cremated remains into space, are becoming increasingly popular. However, we are yet to have a reentry cremation.
Dead bodies burning on reentry to Earth’s atmosphere would create a dramatic meteor-like shower scene. Therefore, if timed right, the loved ones could watch the scene from Earth to say goodbye.
