Loading...School council elections – teach kids how to vote and why it matters
I was on the school council when I was a kid. It was the only way I could pressure them into providing a vegetarian option at lunchtime. It helped me understand better how to make and change rules and procedures. Not sure if they still have them, but they should. (meathead now though)
The rest of the world could learn a thing or two from the UK here. It teaches kids about voting and what people do to try to sway your opinion.
Having a right to affect your own life is laid out by law – which is why many schools have councils. They are a great thing and should be universal.
