Loading...iPhone Cubesat kit
Our college recently launched a small Cubesat satellite into space, but the electronics we could use were very limited. It wasn’t until after the project was sent to the International Space Station that we realised we could have used a standard iPhone as its ‘brains’.
Someone should make an iPhone-powered satellite building kit that uses its GPS, camera and communications technology. They could sell the kit and provide advice on how to get it launched via the program we joined at http://dreamup.org
Nasa has been doing this for a while.
They are already using smartphones in cubesats, a kit that integrated the phone with other sensors and extra power sources would be amazing. Ie not global positioning but universal…..
