God is just an intelligence that watches us but can’t control us
I like the idea that God’s/it’s challenge is to influence our thoughts and actions, from a (vast) distance – just as any alien would attempt to do.
After all, it didn’t create the Universe, mankind or consciousness. It just became aware of both and realised it was superior to us. Humanity’s vast resources of information could be used as either food for its mind, or as a tool to aid its survival against our common enemy: Time.
This will also become the main challenge humanity faces when we need to influence all those distant consciousnesses we discover, as time continues to swallow us all up.
Why worry about that when we have plenty to worry about (and enjoy, and be mesmerised by) on Earth? Watch Sadhguru innit.
this…
What if the almighty has a pretty low IQ? Nobody said that something that creates things MUST be smart.
Or God exists but doesn’t really give a monkey’s about you, just as you don’t really give a monkeys about all the dying cells your body sheds.
Interesting idea. though it may be entropy that swallows us up, rather than time. That guy will come before time ends, for sure. I guess the race is on…
