   Sounds reasonable on first view but the CPI isn’t a good measure of how well things are going – plus, what if the previous administration messed up and things skydive? Then you would only have politicians who don’t need the money- because they have plenty already.

   Just pay them properly and you will get better quality, stands to reason. Read this,

   Their pay should be linked to what happens to real GDP per capita over the parliamentary term, and grow or be reduced accordingly.
