Extracting water from asteroids
Global freshwater supplies are gradually dwindling, and we might face a water shortage crisis in the next few decades. However, alternative water sources, such as mining water from near-Earth asteroids, can help replenish our water supply.

It is unlikely we will need to extract water from asteroids for Earth’s use soon, but the idea can be used for resupplying space exploration missions.
According to scientists, the water on Earth came from comets and asteroids, so it only makes sense to mine them when the global supply runs dry.
We might need this in a few decades to come!
