China has done this with a passenger train, which promises to be more energy-efficient than traditional trains.
What an excellent idea! Carbon fibre is already used in automotive and aerospace industries, so why not in trains?
Besides being more sustainable, the lighter frame would allow for increased speeds, thus making carbon fiber perfect for high-speed trains.
Carbon fibre is cheaper and less energy-intensive than steel (in addition to being recyclable), making it an excellent sustainable alternative for use in trains.
