Bartender Call Lights
When the joint is jumping, it can be tough to get a bartender’s attention (even if you’re a regular patron!). I propose each seat location around the bar have an associated light positioned on the edge of the bar top facing the server side. The patron could press a button in order to trigger the light, assuring the bartender will see the light and save the waving arms and fruitless shouts across the noisy room trying to get the bartender’s attention.
These would function similarly to the attendant call lights on airplanes. The light stays lit until the bartender comes over and turns it off when taking the customer’s drink order.
Great idea, why isn’t this a thing already? Would work great with another button for the same drink please, or in conjunction with an app that reorders.
I like the idea of an additional signal that alerts to same drink. In the interest of keeping it simple and limited to a single light, perhaps pressing the button once displays a static light meaning a refill, and pressing the button twice makes the light blink which would indicate a new order or assistance needed.
Ahh, you nailed it. Double click for a different order, otherwise keep ‘em coming in just a click. They saw it here first!
