Getting old sucks. If you wanted to describe how society views the aging process, these three words would probably sum it up. Through my conversations thousands of women in the community, research and writing, I have discovered something important – getting old, ain’t what it used to be…
If friends rip the shite out of you to make you laugh its fine – if they do it to make others laugh at you, that’s a different matter. Not funny for suicidal teens, so beware.
For those who don’t speak much slang – “Take the piss” may be a reference to a related (and dated) idiomatic expression, piss-proud, which is a vulgar pun referring to the morning erections which happen when a man awakens at the end of a dream cycle (each about 90 minutes in length throughout the night) or may be caused by a full bladder pressing upon nerves that help effect an erection.”
Picking on the winner with most power is usually fair game, though the US don’t often share the rest of the world’s self-mocking humour. Check this yanky beard-puller out though.
People’s last words stick with us for a long time, but memory fades and stone doesn’t. Unless you get cremated and your ashes end up in an ugly urn, your remains get a grave, and together with it - the last opportunity to entertain those who drop by for a visit.
