Someone could make this into a business. They wouldn’t have to be self driving but you would need a way to distribute them to major parts of the city, I guess councils would need to do the infrastructure unless firms delivered them to your home in major cities. For now you can rent them, but not cheap or locally. Here’s a link to a service that does it already.

Yeah, nice idea. Like you rent bikes in certain cities. One of these would do it for those that need mobility for shopping one day per week.
These would avoid pavement crashes for sure.
