App to record and measure loudness of motorbikes and send pic of reg plate to police
Click a button in the app to have it record and measure the loudness of souped-up motorbikes that disturbs the peace and if it is over the limit simply take a picture of the registration plate and send to the police in just 3 clicks. They can then check the idiot hasn’t added extras to make the bike illegally loud.
Just use this – Self Evident is a free, convenient and effective way for people across England & Wales to engage with the police. With 28,000 registered users already, the app is used every day to report crime and capture digital evidence.
82-86 decibels is the current maximum permitted noise level for a motorcycle, the bracket depending on engine size. Most police forces use 90 decibels as the limit to take account for the effects of any wear and tear.
