Loading...Land owner identifier app – see who is responsible for your current location
Recently a wealthy land-owner sold an entire mountain in the Lake District, UK. It made me wonder how difficult it would be to find out who owned the piece of land I was currently standing on. Could GPS, aligned with a land registry database allow me to identify then contact the owner of any piece of land I come across? Why isn’t this info readily available? It would be great to know how much land and property is still owned by the church, the state and by individuals.
This could work if you are in the US.
Not likely the Govt would make the app, or even an api that others can use to access the registry, but good idea, should be done somehow. Why is it that its almost a secret who owns what?
