Good idea, but this is only in the early stages of becoming a reality. We can do lots in space but eat properly? Urr not yet. “Today’s astronauts eat only freeze-dried and vacuum-packed foods.”
We would need huge space greenhouses floating around. You could even set them off with robots growing food and catch up to them when we colonise the galaxy. Oh and have them plant seeds on other planets.
NASA, bless them (we all get the benefit of NASA’s work and only American taxpayers pay for it) are working on this at the moment.
