Some companies do pack cereal in Ziploc bags. Here is a consumer’s YouTube video showing a cereal brand that uses a resealable bag. Hopefully, more companies can follow suit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wB3BZlTCj5E
One cereal company has addressed the issue. Apparently, resealable bags are a logistical nightmare for their operation. Check out their response here. https://www.kelloggs.com/en_US/nutrition/you-guys-should-make-the-bags-zip-lock-to-keep-the-cereal-fresher.html
Some consumers figure cereal companies do this for money. For starters, non-resealable bags make cereal go stale faster, meaning more buying. Ziploc bags are also more expensive, adding to production costs for cereal companies.
