Governments need alternatives to replace the shrinking revenues of fuel taxes, which could mean a Road Usage Charge (RUC). But tax or no tax, the future is electric, and the sooner we remove all gasoline and diesel vehicles from the roads, the better. First things first.v
Electric vehicles are on the rise, capturing a growing market share. Lack of charging infrastructure is a common hurdle but electric road projects, like Detroit’s upcoming initiative led by Electreon, offer wireless charging while driving, promising versatile solutions for various vehicles. This i... Read more
Israeli company Electreon has announced that it’s planning to build the first US road with wireless-charging capabilities for electric vehicles. The pilot project is set to be…
A California company is selling a sign for the back of your car that says two things – THANK YOU (in flashing green LED lights) and SORRY (in red, of course).
Civica Digital Crash is transforming collision reporting for police forces with roadside mobile reporting functionality and higher quality data capture.
Here is your answer why this idea didn’t turn into reality – someone will lose out on lots of repair work, something their lobbyists will fight for. Shameful, why not make them the height of kids heads then, to give more work to private surgeons?
IIHS Obvious Conclusion of the Day: Mismatched bumpers cost thousands in repairs
For the same reason there is no standard piece of clothing for each person on the planet -- we’re all different sizes and shapes. That being said, though, there are a few Federal regulations regarding bumpers, specifically that they must be between 16 and 21 inches off the ground: Bumper Questions... Read more
I am alarmed whenever I see a vehicle - always a pickup truck or SUV - that is jacked up with an enhanced suspension for off-road use. What bothers me is that invariably the bumpers then line up approximately with my windshield. This means that, should one of these vehicle either run into me, or I i... Read more
Would be good if they played a sound while you crossed too!

Aug 7, 2012 - This may not be very exciting to most, but as a piano player I find it extremely cool. Newly painted zebra crossings in Warsaw have been given a new shape. I absolutely love it!!!
Think its just a concept/idea rather than a thing. Though not sure. It says in the Wired article that it could project silhouettes of the pedestrians behind it, so the motorists are aware that there are lives behind the barrier, that don’t want to be extinguished. Would this type of thing help though? Motorists that ignore lights are just as likely to ignore laser lights too right?
Laser experts, we need to know something: Would this work? The Virtual Wall is designed as a replacement for traffic lights and if made would use “plasma laser beams” to project silhouettes of moving people into the path of oncoming traffic. Supposedly this would calm traffic and make drivers mo... Read more
Wow, I found this from a Google reverse image search. It’s a “virtual wall” and looks like they made it over a decade ago, why aren’t they all over the place already?
The Virtual Wall provides a barrier made up of plasma laser beams depicting pedestrians doing what they do best and any car that crosses that barrier suffers the consequences. Okay so maybe those lasers aren’t powerful enough to do any harm but the effect is enough to make drivers and pedestrians ... Read more

Steel weighs a lot, and contributes heavily to low mileage figures, according to Murray, a noted race car designer who has headed up star programs at McLaren, Mercedes and Aston Martin. As a matter of fact, yes we could. All all that would be needed would be to adapt existing technology! Behold - I give you the inflatable couch! Behold! I give you the inflatable bed! Behold! I give you the inflatable living room set! But wait, you say! There is a huge difference between furnit…
You can also find airless tires for bikes and scooters on Amazon.
Here’s one from eBay.
Interesting concept, but how good are the tires (in terms of speeds, handling, and comfort) compared to the traditional ones?
Several top brands are already testing out airless car tires.
Check out these space-based airless tires designed by NASA that are guaranteed to put an end to your puncture problems.

A great idea, but these roads will be expensive, especially when you factor in initial costs and wear and tear.
Electric roads can significantly increase the range of electric vehicles.
Electrified roads are the future of transportation industry.
American electric car owners will soon enjoy driving on an EV charging road.
Sweden is already using an EV charging road!

Here’s another one from Amazon with a custom LED message feature.
Check out this LED thumb sign from Amazon!
An excellent idea to promote politeness on the road – but only if you install a polite message.

Some cars also have an “icy warning” light to alert drivers of hazardous road conditions.
You could mark the roads with glowing paint, improving visibility in dark conditions.
Someone had this concept a while back – roads that turn pink in icy conditions!

I love this idea of solar-powered LED road signs.
This cool idea can save many lives, especially along road curves and at intersections.

Augmented reality can have other amazing uses, for example, helping you choose a car from a dealership right from your home.
Wow! Check out how cool augmented reality is combined with a heads-up display. The future of the automotive industry is bright.
Driving while being aware of everything in your surrounding is not only safe but could be fun.
Check out this driver monitoring system! Seems like someone already ahead of the curve.
Eye-tracking can also help prevent accidents caused by distractions such as texting, using the phone, talking with passengers, etc.
This technology should be made mandatory for all vehicles! No more accidents caused by sleeping at the wheel.
Wow! What an excellent idea. Body fatigue is one of the major causes of accidents, and such technology can do wonders in improving road safety.
Did you know that the first traffic cones were made out of wood? Check out this article on the history of traffic cones https://safeindustrial.co.uk/stats-and-facts-about-traffic-cones/
Japan has been using some pretty odd-looking traffic cones on the road. They sure do get the attention of the drivers and other road users.
Anyone use this?
Sounds like someone should make thes crash thing into a simple app the police can use aswell.
Theres this already(?)

This… So everyone should buy a truck to be safe then, I get it.
Lol, an idiot on Quora answers “because different vehicles have different needs” so not actually to protect people from crash injurys then?
Sort of an obvious idea really but after years, they are still not standard. Worse is that they are an ego thing for big boys with toys. Cowards.
You can’t project lasers onto nothing, but you can use clouds or mist like this idea https://ideamill.info/waterfall-road-signs/
We should have these crossing laser walls on the end of groins and piers in Brighton, and the gay lights they have in Madrid.
The UK has a cheaper solution, ain’t seen one of these but there was one in London.
Would be good if they played a sound while you crossed too!

Watch this space…
This is likely to be a thing in the future. Lighter, cheaper, and makes people drive safer.
lol, quora suggests inflatable autos.
