Cultivating algae forests to reduce carbon emissions
Trees are a good defense against carbon emissions, but large-scale tree planting is very challenging. So, why not try saving the planet with something less challenging—algae forests in water bodies?

Unfortunately, Kelp forests are at risk of deforestation, just like their terrestrial counterparts. Therefore, more conservation work needs to be done for them to have any meaningful carbon sequestration impact.
Kelp (algae) forests are among the most ecologically beneficial ecosystems. They capture and store carbon while providing food and shelter for marine life.
According to this study, algae are far more effective at capturing carbon than normal plants.
